In yet another g-governance initiative, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday launched eProcurement project designed to usher in total automation of the procurement and tender procedures of government departments. Spread over three phases, the project involves implementation of a eProcurement solution developed by a consortium of companies lead by the Delhi based Commerce One. The solution is designed to cater to purchase requirements of various government departments and help reduce inventory costs, shorten supply chain and create a level-playing field for the suppliers.
